This tile and cube ads were based on promotional postcards created by another graphic designer for Yamaha Motors, USA. I worked with Yamaha to design and create the animated ads below.
The process involved scanning the postcards, enlarging the canvas and extending the background art to blend into the original, then finally adding the promotional message using an appropriate typeface styled to match the one used in the original artwork.
This tile ad was used prior to the introduction of the 2000 Yamaha YZF-R1 motorcycle.
This cube ad was used for the official announcement of the release of the 2000 Yamaha YZF-R1.The animated GIF seen here was "reverse engineered" to duplicate the solarized photographic effect seen in the postcard and animate the neon effect of the headlights.
